Antes de materializarse como grupo oficial, Natural Elements se concibió originalmente como un grupo de artistas solistas reunidos en 1993 bajo la tutela del productor Charlemagne. Esta agrupación inicial, cuyos miembros firmaron inicialmente con Fortress Records, incluía a los miembros Mr. Voodoo, L-Swift, KA, G-Blass, Howie Smalls e InTimidator. Sin embargo, en 1995, la membresía se redujo para incluir solo a Mr. Voodoo, L-Swift y el recién agregado A-Butta.
